Ballot Clerk
Please note that all applicants will be required to complete an in-person written interview to determine eligibility.
Strathcona County 2010 Election - Monday, October 18, 2010
Hours of work: 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the set-up and closure of the voting station as directed by the Presiding Deputy – Supervisor
- Issue and process ballots
- Complete all documentation and worksheets to ballot accounting and Voting Registers
- Be the custodian of unused ballots
- Other duties as required by the Presiding Deputy – Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Previous experience as an election worker is an asset
- Must have mathematical, organizational and communication skills
- Must be comfortable working with numbers
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be systematic in your role
- Must attend a mandatory training session
- Must be able to arrange your own transportation to and from the voting station
- Demonstrated knowledge with election processes
The wage for this Election Day position is $220. Successful applicants will be compensated $30 for attending the mandatory two hour training session in early October.
