Ballot Clerk

Please note that all applicants will be required to complete an in-person written interview to determine eligibility.

Strathcona County 2010 Election - Monday, October 18, 2010
Hours of work:
8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the set-up and closure of the voting station as directed by the Presiding Deputy – Supervisor
  • Issue and process ballots
  • Complete all documentation and worksheets to ballot accounting and Voting Registers
  • Be the custodian of unused ballots
  • Other duties as required by the Presiding Deputy – Supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Previous experience as an election worker is an asset
  • Must have mathematical, organizational and communication skills
  • Must be comfortable working with numbers
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be systematic in your role
  • Must attend a mandatory training session
  • Must be able to arrange your own transportation to and from the voting station
  • Demonstrated knowledge with election processes

The wage for this Election Day position is $220.  Successful applicants will be compensated $30 for attending the mandatory two hour training session in early October.
