Door-to-door collection
To obtain 100 per cent participation in Census 2012, door-to-door collection will occur from May 23 to June 6. Census workers will target households that have not completed the census online or by phone, to collect the information in person.
Municipal census information is important to:
- Plan for programs and services
- Secure maximum grant funding based on population
All census information is collected in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Census information is only released at the aggregate level.
