RCMP and Enforcement Services

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Solicitor General Advocate Certificate Training, coordinate speakers and prepare instructional information
  • Develop and implement monthly training and workshops for advocates and police personnel in consultation with Victim Services Coordinator and RCMP training coordinator.
  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy and budget for the recruitment of new Victim Services volunteers including attending trade fairs, meetings, workshops and on-site recruitment fairs
  • Maintain new volunteer application packages and conduct pre-screening assessments on all new volunteer applications
  • Establish and maintain networks and partnerships within the detachment, community and other provincial agencies '
  • Attend meetings and participate in related committees, identifying service gaps and promoting the Victim Services program
  • Provide administrative services including correspondence, filing, data entry and other related duties as required
  • Provide after hours services on occasion, if a volunteer advocate is not available or requires assistance

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in volunteer management or public relations or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication, consulting, planning, supervision and time management skills
  • Knowledge of the Victim Assistance program; Victim Services Coordinators course and financial planning are assets
  • The ability to deal with confidential information in a discreet manner and display a high degree of professionalism
  • The ability to work independently in a flexible schedule
  • The ability to obtain RCMP Enhanced-Reliablity clearance, a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle

This is a contract position for approximately one-year. The hourly rate is $27.23 working 40 hours per week which may include occasional evenings or weekends.
