Systems Analyst II (JD Edwards Specialist)
Information Technology Services
Strathcona County maintains two separate and distinct ERP systems (JD Edwards World and Bellamy Software). Both systems run on the IBM System I (AS/400) platform. JD Edwards World is the County’s prime ERP.
Responsibilities
- provide technical support for Corporate ERP systems. This would include performing software upgrades, installing software, maintaining documentation, configuring software and performing software administration
- analyze and resolve end-user issues, provide end-user instruction on ERP functionality, support and maintain the County’s investment in ERP technology, advise on technical issues and produce user documentation
- provide technical support for interfaces and all third party applications associated with the ERP environment
- provide some System I (AS/400) support for the ERP environment. This may include DB administration functions, maintaining stored procedures, developing ad-hoc views and queries
- assist internal customers in using corporate software and applications by recommending or providing training
- develop and maintain working knowledge and skill of the Corporate ERPs, including processes and technologies; this will require ongoing research using a variety of sources, including trade press, the Internet, and attendance at conferences, courses, and workshops
Qualifications
- a degree in Computing Science or another related Information Technology discipline with a minimum of two years of relevant experience
- working knowledge of JD Edwards World software, and experience with IBM System I (AS/400) hardware and software including configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and support. Knowledge of Bellamy Software would be considered an asset
- proven ability to manage time and concurrent priorities effectively and efficiently. Effective leadership skills, working as part of a team with well developed planning, organizational and communication skills
- proven interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain professional working relationships with department staff
- strong writing skills to produce professional-quality communication material
- analytical and problem-solving abilities
The annual salary range for this permanent position is $62,695 to $78,369, working 35 hours per week.
