Responsibilities:

  • Using a specialized scheduling software, prepare SCAT Operator schedules ensuring safe, efficient and time sensitive schedules while coordinating driver and vehicle availability.
  • Maintain continuous communications with specialized transit bus operators via phone and radio. Assist with daily operational challenges such as detours or late buses.
  • Perform call taking functions by taking trip requests from pre-certified users and enter booking data into special trip-booking software. Confirm trip origin and destination, and pick up and return trip times, approximately 40-50 calls per day.
  • Process financial transactions in accordance with SCAT policies.
  • Discreetly manage sensitive and confidential information for clients. Provide information to clients including policies, eligibility, application procedures, operations, fares and other rules for specialized transit.

Qualifications:

  • Three years Dispatching experience in a Transit environment, with preference given to Specialized Transit. Proficiency in Scheduling Software Applications, Microsoft Office including Word and Excel as well as comprehensive knowledge of general office procedures and protocol.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced work environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to respond to changing conditions.
  • Strong organizational skills.

The annual salary range for this permanent part time position is $25,990 to $32,490 working 20 hours per week.
