We are seeking a Recreation Programmer, Preschool to join our team. 

The position has the following responsibilities: 

  • ensure high quality preschool programming opportunities exist for Strathcona County residents and community groups
  • recruit, interview, schedule, develop, supervise and evaluate preschool instructors and volunteers
  • ensure the delivery of quality programs that adhere to government standards, department policies and professional regulations
  • implement, monitor and evaluate programs and services to ensure customer needs are being met
  • assist with the development and management of the annual budget to maximize revenue and recover costs
  • assist with the preparation of statistical reports on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • investigate and courteously respond to program and service inquiries and concerns

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • university degree or equivalent experience in Early Childhood Development, Education or Recreation
  • experience in a leadership role
  • three years experience in a supervisory position and in a programming capacity
  • strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent customer service and public relation abilities
  • proficiency in Microsoft software, specifically Excel and Word
  • the ability to meet various deadlines in a constantly changing service environment
  • a high level of creativity and flexibility
  • a valid class five driver's licence
  • Standard First Aid and CPR

The hourly salary range for this permanent full-time position is $27.04 to $33.80 working 40 hours per week.
