Landscape Architectural Technologist (LAT) - Project Development
Environmental and Open Space Planning
The Technologist will be responsible for assisting the Landscape Architect with the long term planning and design development of capital projects. The position will be responsible for assisting with site assessment, requesting site surveys, base plan preparation, project circulation and public consultation initiatives. The LAT Project Development will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to County residents, County departments and the development industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the long term planning and design development of funded and unfunded capital projects
- Assist with design development
- Assist with public consultation initiatives
- Assist with policy/standards development
- Provide excellent customer service and accurate technical information, and answer inquiries
Qualifications
- A Landscape Architectural Technology diploma. Consideration may be given to a two year post secondary diploma in a related field combined with relevant experience.
- A minimum of three years experience working as a Landscape Architectural Technologist.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Alberta Association of Landscape Architects (AALA)
- Ability to assist with and organize resources for public meetings and open houses
- Proficient computer skills including AutoCAD, ArcView programs as well as Microsoft office suite
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal, technical and communication skills to liaise with consultants and the general public
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with the team
- The ability to produce high quality work under changing work environments and/or schedules, and within restricted timelines
- A commitment to on-going personal and professional development
- The provision of excellent customer service to internal and external stake holders
- The ability to assist with the development of new policies and standards related to open space and the environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of Strathcona County department policies and strategies is desirable.
The annual salary range is $59,099 to $73,874, working 35 hours per week.
