Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual tasks required in all park operations using hand and power tools
  • Learn and use safe operation procedures of small power equipment
  • Follow all safety guidelines and safe practices
  • Monitor, maintain and service equipment to maintain good working order
  • Perform other related duties when required

The successful candidates will have the following:

  • A high school diploma
  • A minimum class five Alberta Operator’s Licence with less than seven demerits
  • Good physical condition to perform rigorous daily duties
  • Knowledge of both Occupational Health and Safety and WHMIS regulations
  • Standard First Aid / CPR certificate
  • Knowledge of County-maintained open space areas
  • The ability to follow oral and written directions and interact in a positive manner with internal and external customers
  • The ability to maintain concentration and alertness in a variety of situations
  • The ability to perform various types of physical labour, including lifting, standing, bending, shoveling, etc.
  • Perform duties in inclement weather, with possible exposure to severe weather conditions

The hourly wage range is $17.35 to $19.12 working 40 hours per week with a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends for approximately 15-17 weeks, dependent on weather. Unscheduled overtime may also occur.
