Graphic Design and Marketing Specialist

As the Graphic Design and Marketing Specialist you will put your creativity to the test in a high energy, dynamic human services environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and produce departmental promotional, educational and event materials, using a targeted market approach, taking into account diverse population targets.
- Create print materials in variety of formats – print, web, advertising, reports, newsletters, directories, presentations, posters, postcards, brochures, and news releases.
- Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to inform public and key stakeholders about department and community resources and services.
- Creatively and effectively promote department programs and services using a mix of vehicles including: displays, digital signs, advertisements and promotional materials.
- Work in partnership with other departments to optimize marketing and communication opportunities.
- Assist staff with advertising/media deadlines and updates.
- Coordinate and maintain information for the department portion of the corporate website, both internal and external sites.
- Provide social media advice for department programs in line with the corporate Social Media Policy.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years experience in graphic design role, marketing and web design with related post-secondary diploma. Education or experience within a human services field also an asset.
- Experience using a web content management system.
- High proficiency in computer literacy with experience in Adobe Creative Suite (including: Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat Professional), web content management systems, social media, MS Office).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to present information in formats applicable to the target audiences.
- Creative ability with knowledge of layout, graphic design and application to web-based materials.
- Strong knowledge of the commercial printing industry and standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively at all levels, both internally and externally.
The annual salary range for this permanent position is $50,687 to $63,354, working 35 hours per week.
