Fitness Technician I and II

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the wellness area, demonstrate technique and equipment use and lead small group exercise sessions
  • Promote and maintain excellent public relations with facility users
  • Provide excellent customer service, react to emergency situations and provide first aid and emergency aid when required
  • Collect feedback from clients to ensure their expectations are being met
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of fitness equipment
  • Oversee bulletin boards, posters, member incentive programs and newsletters
  • Oversee value-added sessions for guests and wellness registered programs

The following responsibilities are considered at a different hourly rate and include the following:

  • Design wellness programs, provide ongoing training for guests, conduct fitness appraisals, and provide wellness counselling

Qualifications:

  • At least second year enrolment or completion of a Bachelor of Physical Education degree or equivalent
  • Possession of CFC/CPT, CEP or CSCS is an asset
  • Current CPR (Level C), Standard First Aid and AED
  • Excellent communication skills, team work skills, initiative, self-motivation and leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of fitness equipment maintenance and extensive exercise prescription knowledge

The hourly rate range is as below, working part-time daytime, evening and weekend shifts as required.

Fitness Technician I  - $20.09 to $25.11
Fitness Technician II - $21.84 to $27.30
