Equipment Operator I

Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment including a tractor-mounted snow blower, one-half to three-ton truck, tractor, skid steer, trailers and hand tools
- Monitor, maintain and service equipment to maintain good working order and operating standards
- Complete all labour and operator assignments to meet workload and safety requirements
- Assist with other related duties
The successful candidates will have the following:
- A high school diploma
- A minimum class five Alberta Operator’s License with less than seven demerits
- Q-endorsement would be an asset
- Experience operating a variety of equipment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of both Occupational Health and Safety and WHMIS regulations
- Standard First Aid / CPR certificate
- Knowledge of Strathcona County’s open space parks and recreation areas
- Perform duties in inclement weather, with possible exposure to severe weather conditions
The hourly wage range is $23.23 to $24.18 working 40 hours per week with a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends for approximately 15-17 weeks, dependent on the weather. Unscheduled overtime may also occur.
