Equipment Operator I

Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment including a tractor-mounted snow blower, one-half to three-ton truck, tractor, skid steer, trailers and hand tools
  • Monitor, maintain and service equipment to maintain good working order and operating standards
  • Complete all labour and operator assignments to meet workload and safety requirements
  • Assist with other related duties

The successful candidates will have the following:

  • A high school diploma
  • A minimum class five Alberta Operator’s License with less than seven demerits
  • Q-endorsement would be an asset
  • Experience operating a variety of equipment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of both Occupational Health and Safety and WHMIS regulations
  • Standard First Aid / CPR certificate
  • Knowledge of Strathcona County’s open space parks and recreation areas
  • Perform duties in inclement weather, with possible exposure to severe weather conditions

The hourly wage range is $23.23 to $24.18 working 40 hours per week with a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends for approximately 15-17 weeks, dependent on the weather. Unscheduled overtime may also occur.
