Customer Service Representative I
Strathcona County Transit
The Customer Service Representative will have these responsibilities:
- provide clear, concise and prompt information to the public relating to routes, schedules, fares, connections, passes, tickets , Dial A Bus and other Transit services
- interpret and resolve client needs quickly and accurately
- receive telephone calls and relay accurate messages
- electronically source materials including schedules and bus stop maps
- keep up-to-date on information including special services, Strathcona Transit regulations, detours, contact names and phone numbers
- sell and record all passes and tickets, as well as complete the appropriate deposits and accounting forms
- perform general office duties including photocopying, typing and filing
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- a high school diploma together with several years of customer service experience
- excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to interpret and prioritize client needs in an accurate and professional manner
- proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- cash-handling and banking procedures experience
- excellent communication skills to work within a team environment and handle difficult situations
- strong organizational skills with the ability to process written and verbal instructions quickly and accurately
- the ability to balance a number of tasks within strict timelines under minimal supervision
- the flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- a strong knowledge of Strathcona County, Sherwood Park and Edmonton, including route and schedule information will be an asset
The hourly wage range for this temporary part-time position is $15.30 to $19.12, working part-time shifts that include days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays until approximately March 2012 with the possibility of extension. Customer Service Representatives will be expected to attend mandatory training sessions throughout the year. Hours of work will vary in length and shifts will vary between 5:30 a.m. and 11 p.m.
