Recreation, Parks and Culture

Responsibilities:

  • ensure Millennium Card sales, suspensions and cancellations are accurate; process batch renewals and generate EFT for payment processing; maintain customer accounts including payment disputes and rejected payments in compliance with bank agreement
  • provide ongoing training and support on Class system; ensure documentation for new procedures are up-to-date and consistent with department standards; implement process improvements
  • maintain Class system database master files; create new accounts and merge accounts for customers and system users; maintain Class fees; troubleshoot Class system and hardware problems
  • participate in Class system and other upgrades; learn new functionality, conduct testing, prepare documentation and provide training to staff
  • provide statistical reports and analyze trends for passes, bookings, registration and point of sale to help maximize department revenues and efficiency
  • process account adjustments
  • provide support to customer service staff during peak registration cycles

Qualifications:

  • a diploma in recreation administration or equivalent program (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered) with three years experience in recreation environment or similar administrative role
  • the ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff, using tact and diplomacy
  • excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to deal responsibly and confidentially with information and difficult customers and/or situations
  • good working knowledge of various computer programs (including department specific programs such as Class) and office business equipment
  • some accounting knowledge for financial and statistical analysis
  • excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information
  • excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • knowledge of Recreation, Parks and Culture policies and procedures as it pertains to point of sale, registration, facility bookings and cash handling

The annual salary for this position is $39,749 to $49,686, working 35 hour per week.
