We are seeking an Assistant Facility Supervisor, Systems to join our Millennium Place team. You are a proven supervisor with practical experience in leading facility operations for a large, fast-paced, innovative recreational facility. You will apply your exceptional leadership skills and abilities to provide guidance and establish recreational services and operations that achieve organizational objectives and results. You have proven ability to ensure health and safety, manage risks, maintain budgets, provide service delivery and maintain buildings.

Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor has the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate systems, procedures and processes to support the delivery of services for events and bookings, facility and building operations and customer service
  • Provide support for the development and maintenance of systems for payroll, accounts receivable/payable, OHS programs and emergency procedures, Millennium Card sales processes
  • Provide direction and guidance in the delivery of service for the facility
  • Ensure the development and delivery of service and operations are customer-focused
  • Develop and lead a strong operating team of staff including the recruitment, training and coaching of the team
  • Implement, monitor and promote wellness and recreational programs
  • Examine current practices, systems, processes and identify and implement opportunities to capitalize on the efficiency and effectiveness
  • Assist with establishing priorities for repair and replacement programs for ice plants, turf systems and aquatic systems
  • Assist the Facility Supervisor with the development and monitoring of the budget
  • Manage risks including ensuring health and safety codes and standards are met

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Recreation Administration, Business or related discipline with a minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity for progressively responsible roles, preferably in a large multi-functional recreation facility setting
  • Technical training in the following areas is an asset: Alberta Recreation Facility Personnel (RFP), Arena and Pool Operators I & II, Standard First Aid and CPR (level HCP), Hazard Assessment training, Incident Report and Investigation training, WHMIS site specific, Fire Extinguisher training, Understanding the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code course, Leadership for Safety Excellence course
  • Strong supervisory abilities including well-developed leadership skills to motivate, direct staff and foster a sense of teamwork for 22 full time and over 300 staff
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound organizational, analytical and problem skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, manage and balance a variety of interests and objectives and stressful situations
  • Experience in managing budgets and planning
  • Understanding and awareness of trends, market conditions and opportunities
  • Understanding and experience with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Code and Emergency Preparedness
  • Ability to lift, carry equipment, work evenings and weekends/varying shifts and hours
  • Required to carry a cell phone/pager and travel is necessary
  • A criminal record check

The annual salary range for this permanent position is $75,525 - $94,411. Regular evening and weekend work is required.
