2013 High Five Awards
High Five Awards Ceremony

Come and celebrate with us at this free community event on
Sunday, May
26
1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Festival Place
Along with honouring the positive role models and mentors, we will be showcasing some entertaining and amazing young talent through youth performances and an art show case. We will also be having refreshments and a candy buffet after the ceremony. Everyone is welcome to come as we celebrate the adults who make a difference and the great young people for acknowledging them.
The High Five Awards are a youth driven awards program developed by the Strathcona County Youth Council, and a project of Strathcona County Family and Community Services, to honour the adults who have made a positive difference in the lives of children and youth in Strathcona County. High Five Awards are based on the concept that young people need support from their families, schools and community, to develop the skills that will make them grow up to be healthy, caring, and responsible adults
Over 420 students from Kindergarten to age 18 living in Strathcona County nominated their positive role model or mentor for an award. A winner will be awarded in the following four divisions: Kindergarten – Grade 3, Grades 4 – 6, Grades 7 – 9, Grades 10 – 12, however, ALL adults who have made a positive difference in the lives of the children and youth in our community will be recognized and honoured at the awards ceremony.
