Parachute Group for children and youth

Now accepting intakes for Fall 2012 groups! 

The Parachute Group provides support to children ages 5 to 11 who are experiencing the effects of a separation or divorce. Children will participate in games, activities and discussion that is designed to help them share their feelings. Children will be placed in a group using grade level as criteria.

Level 1: Kindergarten and Grade 1
Level 2: Grades 2 and 3
Level 3: Grades 4, 5, and six

Who is eligible for the program?

  • Children from kindergarten to grade six
  • Parents who are separated or divorced
  • Families who have been separated for at least six months

Note: Levels of groups offered is determined by ages of children registered.

Prism Group for parents

This group is for parents whose children are enrolled in the Parachute Group. Information and support for parents who are parenting through divorce or separation.

Effective Co-Parenting: Putting Kids First

This parent information night will:

  • Give information about the needs of parents, children and families coping with separation and divorce.
  • Provide strategies for more effective and co-operative co-parenting
  • Offer resources and support to manage the issues of separation and divorce
