Answers to burning, permit and fireworks questions

Strathcona County Emergency Services encourages everyone to take care when burning. Fires can quickly get out of control, people can get hurt if not careful and smoke caused by a fire can unintentionally offend your neighbours.

Please take note of important information that you need to know about outdoor fires that require a permit and those which do not require a permit.

Do I need a fire permit?

If you are a permit holder, please ensure you call 780-464-8464 prior to burning. This number is Emergency Service's 24-hour automated line that will confirm if conditions allow for safe burning. You must also call the wind speed line at 780-468-4940 prior to burning.
