Stathcona County is pleased to host delegates visiting as part of the Ukrainian Municipal Local Economic Development program. In 2010, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) established a development program in partnership with the Association of Ukrainian Cities (AUC), and with key ministries with the government of Ukraine.
During the Ukrainian delegation's visit (August 24 - 25), the Economic Development & Tourism team is chronicling the day's events, presentations, and ceremonies. Photos, video, and other information will be posted on this page as they become available. (Check back for regular updates.)
A total of 18 delegates, divided into three teams, are visiting to draw on the expertise and best practices of the Canadian municipal partners. The Ukrainian delegates include business, economic development and planning consultants, and municipal department heads.
Over the two day visit the delegation will be learning more about key features of Strathcona County, including but not limited to:
- Alberta's Industrial Heartland
- Best practices for marketing / communication
- Best practices for retail development
- Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce
