Council releases summary report of organizational review
Strathcona County Council today released the summary report from Russell Farmer and Associates Consulting Ltd., highlighting the findings of an organization-wide review of County operations, process and structure.
Titled In Pursuit of Excellence, the study was commissioned by Council in September 2011 to identify how municipal services could be delivered in the most responsive, efficient and cost-effective manner possible. It encompassed all County departments and Council.
In a statement contained within the document, the consulting team noted, “… Strathcona County [is] a well-functioning municipality that provides a very high level of service to its residents.”
“From the outset, our goal has been excellence in customer service, and to ensure we are delivering quality municipal services that enhance our residents’ quality of life,” says Mayor Linda Osinchuk.
“This report provides Council with a number of options for improving services and service delivery. Council will now carefully consider which recommendations to pursue, based on desired outcomes and available resources.
“Given the key role the Chief Commissioner plays in leading the organization, we thought it only appropriate to involve our new Chief Commissioner, Robert Coon, in developing an action plan which will be approved by Council early in the new year.”
