Strathcona County pursues excellence through organizational review
September 27, 2011
Strathcona County Council today approved funding in the amount of $210,000 to implement an organization-wide review of County operations, process and structure.
Titled In Pursuit of Excellence, the initiative will identify how municipal services can be delivered in the most responsive, efficient and cost-effective manner possible. It will encompass all County departments and Council.
Russell Farmer and Associates Consulting Ltd. has been selected as part of a competitive process to help Strathcona County improve service delivery, adopt new leading practices, and enhance organizational effectiveness.
“Strathcona County is committed to excellence in customer service, and to delivering quality municipal services that enhance our residents’ quality of life. As a taxpayer-funded organization, we must continually strive to deliver services in a responsive, efficient and cost-effective manner,” says Mayor Linda Osinchuk.
“The review will highlight those areas where we excel, as well as identify areas where we can do an even better job for our residents.”
Council expects the review to be completed by the end of January, with the recommendations being made public sometime in the new year.
